Date: Sunday the 22nd of June 2003.
It was a crisp, sunny winter morning and I thought this would be a great day to partake in the Allbikes Dice Run.
I made my way to Kingswood, located in the Nepean Area of Sydney, Australia. I was to be picked up by a mate, and we made our way to the Grey Gums Hotel, Penrith, from where the Dice Run was to commence.
Myself and a couple of the members wives started selling Dice Run merchandise, taking entrants names and verifying the scores from the rolled dice. All entrants had registered and rolled their dice by 11 a.m.
Graeme, the club President called a pre-run meeting and explained the planned proceedings for the day.
We departed from the Grey Gums Hotel and made our way up to Blaxland via Old Bathurst Rd.
It was a sight to see, our first Dice Run with so many various makes of bikes going through the hairpin bends as they climbed the Blue Mountains. The rumble of so many bikes was exhilarating as well, with a report from a friend of mine who lives nearby saying she thought the bikes were outside her house.
We made an eastern turn back onto the Great Western Highway at Blaxland and headed for our first destination, the Commercial Hotel in Liverpool (south western Sydney).
The owners of the Hotel provided a barbecue lunch, for which all greatly appreciated (Hmmmmm ... might have to keep them in mind for our next Run).
After having our fill of food, liquid refreshments and dice rolling, it was time to make our way to the next stop, the Narellan Hotel. We had a break for a smoke and a drink and another roll of the dice.
We headed off up the Northern Road, making progress toward our next stop, the Wallacia Hotel. Once again, we were greeted by the friendly staff, as we relaxed in the beer garden, listening to the band and taking turns again at rolling the dice.
As the sun was setting in the west behind the Blue Mountains, the call was made to continue our journey onto the last leg of the ride, the Rebels Clubhouse in Kingswood, who made their premises available to us for the end of run festivities.
The Allbikes ladies previously mentioned outdid themselves again by having the Bar-B-Q well and truly fired up on our return.
The band "CRUISE CONTROL" were playing so everyone just kicked back, ate, drank and enjoyed themselves. During the course of the evening prizes and trophies were given out for the three highest scores, the lowest recorded score and the best bike of the run.
The Allbikes Dice Run was a huge success, with everyone attending thoroughly enjoying themselves. It certainly made our Club happy in knowing everyone had a good time, which is what Allbikes Social Club are all about. Having fun with your mates and family.
I'd like to say thanks to Vanessa, Rhonda and Amanda (for their organisational skills), our sponsors, Fearsum Thread Wear (FTW Products Pty Ltd) who supplied the T-shirts. The Commercial Hotel, Liverpool, Grey Gums Hotel, Narellan Hotel, Wallacia Hotel, and the Sydney West Chapter of the Rebels MC for the after run venue.
